Ever wonder what it's like to work in live theater?
Founded in 1929, The Stagecrafters, a non-profit theatrical organization, has given to the greater Philadelphia area over 500 stage productions of the highest quality: comedies, dramas, thrillers, classics, edgy contemporary fare ... It is a core of loyal and committed volunteers who makes it possible to sustain this theater's more than eight-decades long tradition of excellence in the art and craft of live performance. Persons from all walks of life are welcome, including high school and college students who would like to acquire unique experience and earn school credit. A great range of interests and abilities is sought. We would like to see people interested in technical operations, such as setting and running of lighting and sound, in stage managing, set construction and set decor, costuming, hair styling, and in a variety of office activities, such as ticketing, mailing, fundraising. Expertise in certain areas is a plus, but for those with no particular experience, skilled staff will provide comprehensive on-the-job training. Please, consider giving this theater some of your time -- you may find it greatly rewarding: learn new skills, meet new people, discover new creativity within you, start on a road to a new professional career, help foster cultural development in and around Philadelphia. If you wish to learn more about opportunities for working at the theater, call 215-247-8881 and leave a message at ext. 814. The Stagecrafters is located in the heart of Chestnut Hill at 8130 Germantown Avenue. |
